Rob Kahn is one of Florida's best-known Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) instructors and has been a major figure in the Tampa Bay martial arts community for more than two decades. He is the founder of Gracie Tampa and is particularly known for his emphasis on practical, no-nonsense grappling for MMA, self-defense, and military applications.

  • Rob Kahn is a 4th-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Royce Gracie, founder of Gracie Tampa, and one of Florida's most respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructors. With nearly three decades of experience, he has built a reputation for developing elite competitors while emphasizing practical self-defense, no-gi grappling, and MMA-oriented Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

  • A former 1995 New York State Golden Gloves Boxing Champion and undefeated professional mixed martial artist, Rob transitioned his focus from competition to coaching, establishing Gracie Tampa in 2004. Since then, he has grown the academy into one of the premier martial arts organizations in the Southeast, producing numerous high-level competitors and professional fighters who have gone on to compete in organizations including the UFC and ADCC.

  • Beyond the academy, Rob has dedicated much of his career to training military and law enforcement professionals. He has served as the Head Combatives Instructor for U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and SOC-CENT at MacDill Air Force Base, where he instructed Special Operations personnel in close-quarters combat and defensive tactics.
